Exchange of molecular oxygen with the oxygen of an Al2(MoO4)3 catalyst

Abstract

The kinetics of exchange of18O-containing molecular oxygen with the oxygen of an Al2(MoO4)3 catalyst has been studied in the temperature range 579–680 °C at\(P_{O_2 } = 10\) Torr. The activation energy of exchange is 57 kcal/mol, and the specific rate of exchange varies between 0.79×1011 and 21.2×1011 molec. cm−2 sec−1. Assumptions are made concerning the activity and selectivity of Al2(MoO4)3 with respect to oxidation reactions.

Исследована кинетика обмена молекулярного кислорода, содержащего O18, с кислородом Al2(MoO4)3 катализатора в температурном интервале 579–680 °C и\(P_{O_2 } = 10\) торр. Найдено, что энергия активации обмена составляет 57 ккал/моль, а удельная скорость обмена меняется от 0,79·1011 до 21,2·1011 молекул O2/см2.сек. Сделаны предположения относительно активности и селективности Al2(MoO4)3 по отношению к реакциям окисления.
