Prévention du suicide: RÔle et efficacité des services de secours par téléphone

Résumé

Cet article, consacré au rÔle des services de secours par téléphone dans la prévention du suicide, contient un rappel historique, une description de l'activité de la Main Tendue à Genève, quelques données pratiques sur l'aide psychothérapique d'urgence au téléphone. 41 appels à «contenu suicidaire» de 35 appelants de la Main Tendue sont sommairement analysés. Une revue de la littérature portant sur ce sujet laisse une impression pessimiste sur l'efficacité des services de secours par téléphone face au suicide.

Suicide prevention: Role and effectiveness of telephonic help services

Summary

This paper deals with the effectiveness of emergency telephonic help services in suicide prevention; it gives an historical account, describes the activity of Geneva's “Main Tendue” and proposes some practical principles on emergency telephonic help. 41 calls of 35 callers of Geneva's telephonic help service are briefly analyzed. A review of the litterature available on this subject leaves a pessimistic impression about effectiveness of such services.

Suizidprävention: Rolle und Effizienz der Telefonhilfsdienste

Zusammenfassung

Diese Arbeit spricht von der Rolle der Telefonhilfsdienste bei der Suizidprävention. Ein historischer Rückblick, ein Aktivitätsbericht der «Dargebotenen Hand» in Genf, einige praktische Punkte der psychotherapeutischen Hilfe per Telefon in Notfällen werden beschrieben. 41 Anrufe von 35 Anrufenden der Dargebotenen Hand werden summarisch analysiert. Eine bibliographische übersicht dieses Themas hinterlässt einen pessimistischen Eindruck betreffend die Effizienz der Telefonhilfsdienste beim Suizid.
