Abstract

The results of TUR in the therapy of bladder tumors are evaluated in 462 cases. TUR may be indicated for diagnostic, therapeutic or palliative purposes in all stages of bladder cancer. It has been confirmed by the present analysis that TUR is superior in various respects to open surgery. In tumors of the superficial stage the results of TUR have been found better than (and in those of the deep stage equal to) those of open and extended radical procedures.
