Abstract

A case of pyelonephritis in a 13-year-old child is reported. Light microscopic evidence was typical of pyelonephritis, fixation of gamma-globulin and of complement was demonstrable by immunohistochemistry. The possible relationships between positive immunohistochemical evidence and the pathogenesis of pyelonephritis are discussed.
