The urinary bladder as herninal contents

Abstract

The authors review a very rare case of prolapse of the wall of the urinary bladder into an inguinal hernia demonstrated by i. v. urography and cystoscopy. They state this to be the first such case in the course of the 40-year roentgenologic-urologic diagnostics at the Institute of Radiology, Medical Faculty of Zagreb. The authors believe that in cases of large hernias it would be necessary to perform preoperative cystography, to avoid intraoperative lesions to the urinary bladder as well as postoperative complications.
