Malakoplakia of kidney and urinary tract report of a case of fatal outcome

Abstract

A lethal case of malakoplakia involving the bladder, ureters, pelvis and parenchyma of both kidneys is reported. The clinical features and pathology of the process are reviewed, its diagnostic and differential diagnostic aspects are discussed, and its possible pathomechanism is examined in the light of published evidence and personal observations.
