Inhibition of glucose utilization in rat diaphragm by the urinary peptides fractionated by high-voltage electrophoresis

Abstract

Several peptides inhibiting glucose utilization in rat diaphragm were isolated from urine of uraemic and healthy subjects. Some of these peptides resembled those found in the serum of uraemic patients. It is suggested that urine instead of uraemic serum can be used in large-scale isolation of these peptides.
