Abstract

The importance of lymphography in carcinoma, elephantiasis and papilloma of the penis with significant balanitis and enlarged inguinal lymphoid glands was investigated. Lymphography is most valuable in penis carcinoma, because it permits a certain preoperative diagnosis of metastases to regional lymph nodes, and one can distinguish whether the enlargement of the lymphoid glands results from nonspecific inflammation or from malignant tumour metastases. Lymphography may serve to assess radiotherapeutic effects as well.
