Models for the formation of uric acid and urate stones

Abstract

A model of stone formation is described. By means of synthetic urine, composed of 16 ingredients, quantitative data have been obtained regarding the effect of the pH value and the concentrations of Na+, K+ and NH +4 on the formation of uric acid and urate stones.
