Abstract
The study of voiding dynamic in children with recurrent or persistent urinary tract infection or symptomatic distal urethral stenosis reveals a functionally obstructive pattern which could have an etiologic relationship to the initiation and perpetuation of the infection. Our studies incriminate spasm of the striated external sphincter as the functionally obstructive mechanism.
