Résumé
Après avoir défini l'hygiène industrielle comme la science des nuisances professionnelles, l'auteur démontre qu'elle constitue un des trois piliers fondamentaux de la protection de l'homme au travail.
En Suisse le développement de l'hygiène industrielle ne s'amorce que très lentement. La lutte contre toute une série de nuisances cachées ou peu connues doit s'intensifier, car les maladies ou les effets provoqués par ces agressions — très souvent non spécifiques et mis sur le compte d'autres agents tel le tabac ou l'alcool — constituent une charge inutile et inacceptable pour la société.
Le besoin en spécialistes et en institutions spécialisés dans ce domaine devient pressant, ainsi que la prise de conscience du public en général.
Zusammenfassung
Arbeitshygiene wird zunächst als Lehre der berufsgebundenen Belästigungen definiert. Anschliessend wird gezeigt, dass sie einen der drei Grundpfeiler des Gesundheitsschutzes des arbeitenden Menschen darstellt.
In der Schweiz entfaltet sich das Fach noch recht langsam. Doch sollte der Kampf gegen eine Reihe von verborgenen oder schlecht erkannten Schädigungen verstärkt werden, die oft unspezifische und auf andere Agenzien wie Tabak und Alkohol zurückgeführte Wirkungen oder Krankheiten verursachen und somit eine für die Gemeinschaft sowohl unnötige als auch unannehmbare Belastung zur Folge haben.
Schliesslich wird das wachsende Bedürfnis an Spezialisten und Spezialinstituten wie auch an öffentliches Bewusstsein in diesem Bereich verdeutlicht.
Summary
After defining industrial hygiene as the science of occupational stresses, the author proceeds to show that it constitutes one of the three basic supports for the protection of the working person.
Industrial hygiene has taken but a very slow start in Switzerland. The fight against a whole series of hidden or poorly recognized nuisances should be intensified, since the resulting effects or diseases-often unspecific and considered related to other agents like tobacco or alcohol consumption-place an unnecessary and inacceptable burden upon society.
The need for specialists and specialized institutions grows pressing in this field, as does the need for consciousness in the public.
