Vegetative effects of aircraft noise in the home environment

Summary

A review of several earlier field studies on the psychovegetative effects of aircraft noise shows that physiological habituation, which is typically observed under laboratory conditions, remains incomplete under field conditions. These findings are discussed in terms of their explanatory value for possible chronic disturbances and illnesses due to environmental noise.
