Summary
A model of illness behaviour has to take into account different factors of the social milieu, of social learning and personality. Many research projects have been done to develop concepts explaining different aspects of illness behaviour. These concepts can serve as intervening variables in our model. This comprehensive model of illness behaviour is used for the planification of an epidemiologic study with school children. The results will serve as a base for planning comprehensive programs in health education.
