Electron microscopic and porosimetric investigations on V2O5−Fe2O3 catalysts for methanol oxidation

Abstract

Electron micrographs show that the most selective catalyst, with an atom ratio of V/Fe=1 is composed: mostly of a single phase of well-shaped polyhedra, forming a compact mass. The pore volume and specific surface area of the selective phase are considerably lower than those of other samples of the Fe2O3−V2O5 system.
