Abstract
Quantitative IR investigation of solid-state [Co(NH3)5ONO]XY↔[Co(NH3)5NO2]XY (XY=Cl2, Br2, I2, (NO3)2′ Cl; NO3) linkage isomerization in KBr pellets has shown the kinetics to depend upon the outer-sphere anion. The red shift of the υ5(ONO) band during isomerization is a linear function of transformation degree.
