Kinetics of edta catalyzed oxidation of I by Cr(VI)

  • Published:
Reaction Kinetics and Catalysis Letters Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

EDTA catalyzed oxidation of iodide by chromic acid obeys first order kinetics with respect to Cr(VI) and H+ and fractional order kinetics with respect to EDTA. The order in I changes from unity to zero. The formation of a termolecular complex involving Cr(VI), EDTA and I is proposed.
