Medium effects in the kinetics of dissociation of the pentacyano (4, 4′-bipyridine) ferrate(II) anion

Abstract

The kinetics of replacement of 4,4′-bipyridine, (4,4′bpy), by cyanide in [Fe(CN)₅(4,4′bpy)]³⁻ at 298 K have been studies in various isodielectric binary aqueous mixtures. The experimental data are well correlated through the following equation:

$$\delta \Delta G_{exp}^ \ne = a\delta A_m + b\delta B_m + cG^{exc} $$

where A_m, B_m ans G^exc are the acidity vector, the basicity vector and the excess Gibbs free energy of the mixture, respectively.

Кинетику реакции замещения 4,4'-бипиридина (4,4'-bpy) цианидом в Fe(CN)₅(4,4'-bpy)³⁻ при 298 К исследовали в различных изодизлектричских бинарных водных смесях. Экспериментальные данные подчиняются уравнению:
