Electric conductivity studies on the interaction of H2S with iron oxide catalyst

Abstract

Interaction of H2S with iron oxide at 550 and 675 K has been studied by electric conductivity measurements. In the absence of oxygen, H2S is strongly adsorbed on the iron oxide surface, whereas in the presence of exygen the adsorbed hydrogen sulfide is oxidized to sulfur at low temperatures and to sulfur dioxide at high temperatures.
