Summary

The effect of different carbon-nitrogen combinations on the growth and sporulation ofBlakeslea trispora, Choanephora cucurbitarum, Choanephora infundibulifera, Choanephora conjuncta, Choanephora heterospora andChoanephora circinans was studied. Both potassium nitrate and sodium nitrite were found to be useless for the present species, even when they were given in combination with different carbon compounds. In some of the cases only a little improvement in the growth was caused by combining poor carbon sources with good nitrogen sources.
