Kinetics of cycloaddition of tetrafluoroethylene to dicyclopentadiene

The title reaction has been investigated in the formation of tetrafluorohept-2-ene in the temperature range from 443 to 473 K and at various molar ratios of tetrafluoroethylene and dicyclopentadiene. Kinetic studies support second and first order for the cycloaddition to both reagents. Least-squares analysis of the data yields the rate equation:
$$r_A = 26.11x10^{11.4} \exp \left( { - \frac{{118560}}{{RT}}} \right)c_{CPD}^2 c_{TFE}^2 [mol L^{ - 1} \min ^{ - 1} ]$$
