ESR studies of the solid solutions of vanadium ions in TiO2

Abstract

ESR studies on solid solutions of vanadium ions in a TiO2 rutile matrix show the presence of small amounts of V3+ ions beside V4+ ions. Heating in oxygen at 370°C and 450°C leads to oxidation of V3+ to V4+, the latter ions being however resistant to oxidation. The concentration of V3+ practically does not change upon treatment of the solid solutions by o-xylene-air mixtures at 400°C.

Abstract

ЭПР исследования твердых растворов ванадийных ионов в рутиловой матрице TiO2 указывают на присутствие небольших количеств ионов V+3 наряду с V+4. Нагрев в кислороде при 370°C и 450°C приводит к окислению V+3 до V+4, а последние уже не подвергаются окислению. Концентрация V+3 практически не изменяется при обработке твердых растворов смесями о-ксилол — воздух при 400°C.
