Oxygen chemisorption and the initial step of platinum oxidation

LEED studies of the order-disorder transition in a (2×2)O layer on Pt(111) and stepped Pt(s) surface have been performed. Oxygen reactivity to CO is shown to decrease in the series: Ochem in (2×2)O on Pt(111) and Pt(s) terraces > Ochem in 2(ID)O on steps > oxygen in surface oxides.

Методом ДМЭ изучен переход порядок-безпорядок в слое (2×2)O на Pt(111) и ступенчатой поверхности Pt(s). Реакционная способность кислорода по отношению к CO уменьшается в следующем ряду: Oхем в (2×2)O на Pt(111) и террасах Pt(s)>Oхем на ступеньках в 2(ID)O > кислород в поверхностных окислах.
