Modification of Al2O3 surface by chlorine ions

Abstract

The effect of Al2O3 treatment with an aqueous solution of HCl on the Lewis acidity of its surface has been studied. Also examined is the case of Al2O3 surface modification with chloride ions, when the oxide itself is not dissolved.
