A probable reason for the selective action of metalloenzymes

Abstract

The following regularity concerning the selective action of metalloenzymes is noted: in many cases, from the given substrate on a given enzyme only the least oxidized product is formed. The low concentration of metal ions in the reaction space is one of the probable reasons of this regularity.

Отмечена следующая особенность селективного действия окислительных металлоферментов: из данного органического субстрата на соответствующем ферменте во многих случаях образуется только наименее окисленный продукт. Высказано и обосновано предположение о том, что одной из причин этого является низкая концентрация ионов металла в реакционном пространстве.
