Abstract

Capacities for nitrogen adsorption of HY, CeHY and LaHY zeolites have been measured after calcination at several temperatures. CeHY and LaHY zeolites were prepared by ion exchange of HY, both presenting the same rare earth exchange ratio of 41%. Rare earth HY zeolites calcined at 1073 K present higher adsorption capacity than HY, which allows to conclude that cerium and mainly lanthanum increase the thermal stability of HY zeolite.
