Conclusions
Periclase-spinel products made on the basis of magnesite powder obtained from caustic magnesite with additions of titanomagnetite concentrate, satisfy the requirements of GOST 10888-64 for highly refractory magnesite-chromite products for building the roofs of open-hearth and electric steel-melting furnaces, with the exception of spalling resistance, which does not always meet these requirements.
The resistance of such periclase spinel products is as good as, and in some cases better than, the resistance of ordinary periclase-spinel products.
