Contribution of the all-union institute of refractories to the development of testing methods

Refractories Aims and scope

Conclusions

At the present time our industry possesses a combination of new and perfected methods of technical testing and research into refractories within a wide range of temperature, thermomeehanical and thermochemical action.

We have scientifically developed improved systems (methods-properties-norms) of assessing the resistance of refractories, meeting modern technical levels of production, reflecting the mechanism of erosion of refractories in service, and ensuring increases in their life.

Accumulated experience of technical testing based on original apparatus will subsequently be used in the development of rational processes for producing highly resistant refractories whose properties can be predetermined.
