Summary

Alternaria Zinniae Pape incited characterized circular dark brown leaf spots and dark brown longitudinal lesions on the stem ofSphaeranthus indicus L. The morphological and cultural characteristics of the fungus isolated from the host fit the description ofA. Zinniae published byPape andNeergaard.A. Zinniae has not been reported previously on this host so far and hence a new record forAlternaria.
