Summary
The effect of pH (pH 1.5 to 10) on the growth, sporulation and amino acid composition ofColletotrichum capsici was studied under rigorously controlled conditions. It was found that the organism could grow and sporulate between a wide pH range. An attempt was made through two dimensional ascending paper chromatography to detect the amino acid composition of the mycelium at pH 4, 6, 8, and 10. It was found that external pH of the medium has got a marked influence on the amino acid pool of the organism.
