A new trematosphaeria from roots of rhizophora racemosa

A new species ofTrematosphaeriaFuck.,T. mangrovisKohlm. sp. nov., is described. The fungus occurred as perthophyte in roots ofRhizophora racemosaMeyer in West Africa (Liberia) and is classified as a marine species. The taxonomical situation of the Ascomycete is discussed and some ecological considerations are given.
