New isolations of Endogone from Canadian soil

Mycopathologia et mycologia applicata Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

Spores ofEndogone were found in additional soil samples taken from a variety of sites in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, Canada. These spores were found in different soil environments some of which were cultivated, such as in wheat fields, and others uncultivated, as in densely wooded areas.Endogone spores varied in size, shape, thickness of wall and color. Many samples of soil contained more than one type of spore and, at present, these spore types are presumed to belong toEndogone. A large proportion of soil samples contained spores ofE. fasciculata in association with basidiospores of amelanogaster, previously identified asM. variegatus.
