Summary
In acute experiments the response of uric acid metabolism to intravenous administration of nicotine bitartrate at a dose of 1 mg to non-smokers and of 3 mg to smokers, respectively, was studied in 27 human volunteers. Nicotine does not alter the concentration of uric acid in serum irrespective of attempts to abolish the action of nicotine upon beta adrenergic receptors by pharmacologic blockade. Nicotine caused no discernible change of the renal clearance of uric acid.
Zusammenfassung
Im akuten Experiment wird an 27 erwachsenen Versuchspersonen der Einfluß von Nicotin auf den Stoffwechsel von Harnsäure geprüft. Intravenöse Injektion von 1 mg Nicotinbitartrat in 5 ml 0,9%-Kochsalzlösung bei Nichtrauchern bzw. von 3 mg Nicotinbitartrat bei Rauchern ist nicht in der Lage, die Serumharnsäurekonzentration signifikant gegenüber Kontrollen zu verändern, unabhängig davon, ob gleichzeitig ein Beta-Receptorblocker verabfolgt wird oder nicht. Nicotin übt keinen erkennbaren Einfluß auf die rénale Harnsäureclearance aus.
