Summary
The glycogen concentration andΒ-Glucuronidase-activity of liver, spleen and kidney of rats and the bloodsugar-concentration were controlled under the acute influence of cristalline glucagon. The results were as follows:
-
1.
Within 30 min after glucagon application (0,05 mg/100 g) 45% of the original glycogen concentration of liver (65 mg/g tissue) has been decreased. 2 hours after glucagon application the glycogen storage of the liver decreased to 1/3 of its original value.
-
2.
The glycogen concentration of spleen and kidney (about 0,15 mg/g tissue) were not changed under the acute influence of glucagon (controlled over 6 hours).
-
3.
The bloodsugar concentration increased to about 45% of its original value after 60 min of glucagon application. 120 min after glucagon administration the bloodsugar concentration decreased to a few lower value but in the beginning of the tests.
-
4.
TheΒ-Glucuronidase-activity of liver, kidney and spleen did not alter under the influence of glucagon. There exists no correlation betweenΒ-Glucuronidase-activity and glycogen concentration of the tissues.
