Summary

The influence of the D- and L-isomeres of penicillamine as well as of diethylenetriaminepentaacetate on the distribution of gold in the organs of the rat was studied. Whereas diethylenetriaminepentaacetate proved to be ineffective, penicillamine brings about a marginal mobilization of gold only. The clinical value of penicillamine as possible antidote in chrysotherapy, therefore, is doubtful.

Zusammenfassung

Es wurde der Einfluß der D- und L-Isomeren von Penicillamin sowie von Diäthylentriaminpentaacetat auf die Organverteilung von Gold bei der Ratte untersucht. Während Diäthylentriaminpentaacetat sich als unwirksam erwies, wird Gold durch Penicillamin in nur geringem Maße mobilisiert. Der klinische Wert von Penicillamin als mögliches Antidot bei der Chrysotherapie erscheint somit fraglich.
