Zusammenfassung
-
1.
Summary
-
1.
By means of the “everted sac technique” different oligosaccharides (maltose, sucrose, a mixture of malto-oligosaccharides, a mixture of isomalto-oligosacoharides, lactose, lactulose, raffinose, stachyose, verbascose) are tested with respect to their absorption as intact components with regard to the intestinal carbohydrase activity.
-
2.
By applying the “everted sac technique” it is possible to show that the absorption of the tested sugars increases with decreasing enzyme activity of the examined segments of the bowel; with regard to the input of saccharides this is however extremely low.
-
3.
After oral or intestinal administration, the tested oligosaccharides — except maltose and malto-oligosaccharides — are found in the blood serum of the portal vein as well as in the urine in low quantities; as to their concentration the statements under point 2 are valid. The passage moreover depends on the molecular size of the saccharide.
-
4.
Compared to those of the small intestine there is found a very low activity or none of carbohydrases in liver and kidney of the rat, consequently oligosaccharides which are absorbed unchanged are excreted unchanged in the urine.
