Summary
In 15 landscaped offices measurements — together with a questionnaire — on the effects of noise were made. The measured noise situation was low, the opinions nevertheless negative. There was no relationship between the complaints and the dB values. Discussions and their contents were responsible for distractions. With the increasing number of work places as well as with the increase in space of the room area the frequency of concentration difficulties decreased. The same studies were made in 20 conventional offices: the mean noise levels were the same, the noise peaks more pronounced, complaints on annoying noise disturbances more frequent than in landscaped offices. With increased personnel in conventional offices the complaints augmented.
