-
Gruppe A:normales Futter undε-Aminocapronsäure,
-
Gruppe B:cholesterinhaltiges Futter undε-Aminocapronsäure,
-
Gruppe C:cholesterinhaltiges Futter ohneε-Aminocapronsäure,
-
Summary
The possible influence of epsilon amino caproic acid on a diet induced atheromatosis was investigated in the present study. 16 male rabbits were divided into four different groups:
-
Group A:normal diet to which epsilon amino caproic acid was added;
-
Group B:cholesterol enriched diet to which epsilon amino caproic acid was added;
-
Group C:cholesterol enriched diet without epsilon amino caproic acid;
-
Group D:normal diet without epsilon amino caproic acid.
In all animals we determined the fibrinolytic activity, fibrinogen, the time of recalcification, factor 7 and Quick-Time. After 2 months the animals were sacrified, the blood vessels removed and investigated by histological methods. There was a striking inhibitation of fibrinolysis by epsilon amino caproic acid, whereas the other tests remained unaffected. Both, the group with epsilon amino capraoic acid in diet and the animals fed with cholesterol only, showed about the same state of atheromatosis. However, we observed small intimai fibrin warts only in animals, whose diet contained epsilon amino caproic acid.
