Cervical myelopathy secondary to ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (a case report)

Abstract

A case of ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament, documented by spinal X-ray, myelography and CT scanning of the spinal cord is reported. The patient underwent decompressive laminectomy by posterior approach, which was successful. The case is discussed in the light of recent published data.

Sommario

Viene riportato un caso di ossificazione del legamento longitudinale posteriore, documentato con Rx, mielografia e TAC della colonna vertebrale. Il paziente è stato sottoposto a laminectomia decompressiva per via posteriore, con miglioramento della sintomatologia. II caso viene discusso alla luce degli altri dati della letteratura.
