Zur Wirkung von Angiotensin II auf die Nebennierenrinde bei Blockade der 11-β-Hydroxylierung

Quantitative morphologische Untersuchungen

Summary

The adrenostasis with metopiron (inhibitor of 11-β-hydroxylation) increases the secretion of ACTH. As seen in previous experiments with rats angiotensin II blocks this reaction.

Summarizing the present experimental findings it can be stated that this effect is not caused by a direct inactivation or exertion of ACTH resp. anterior pituitary. It comes about over the adrenals by an apparently increased release of corticosteroids with the ability to influence the hypophysis by the adreno-hypophyseal regulation system. Angiotensin II is known to have an adrenocorticotrophic effect especially stimulating the aldosterone secretion and to a smaller extent also the 17-hydroxy-corticosteroids.

These observations indicate, that angiotensin II influences the biosynthesis of corticosteroids before the 11-β-hydroxylation.
