Unseparated uniform rotational flow past a plate in a channel

Abstract

The plane problem of a uniform rotational stream of ideal incompressible fluid flowing past a plate in channel with parallel walls is solved analytically. It is found that there is a unique position of the plate in which in experiences the same lift from rotational and potential streams. In an unbounded rotational stream this statement is valid when the ordinates of the plate's mid-point and the point at infinity where the characteristic velocity of the incoming stream is specified are equal.
