Evaluation of the effects of lanthanide coextraction on microamount americium extraction

Abstract

On the basis of 42 distribution dependencies, an analysis of the effect of the macrocomponent (Ln) on the extraction of the microcomponent (Am) by benzyldialkylamines and benzyltrialkylammonium salts has been made. Assuming the validity of DLn=f(c 0Ln ) and DA m=f(c 0Ln ), the power function of the general expression log D=−log P−q log c 0Ln has been calculated, the constants have been determined for the equations applying to individual extraction systems. Their physical and chemical characteristics are discussed.
