Abstract

The solution of the problem of the axisymmetric motion of an ideal incompressible fluid in a cylindrical vessel of finite depth is obtained for small vibrations of a flexible circular disk and washer (disk with centered hole) on the surface of the fluid. On the basis of this solution the virtual mass is determined as a function of the dimensions of the vessel, disk and washer for the special case of a rigid nondeformable disk and washer.
