Abstract

Bent rectangular waveguide characteristics are analysed using conformal transformation and four-layered waveguide approximation. Using this method the physical model is clear, the optical characteristic expressions given are uncomplicated and the computed result is in good agreement with the results of Marcatili and Marcuse.
