Viscous incompressible fluid motion on a rotating sphere in the central newtonian attraction field

Abstract

An approximate solution of the problem of tidal flow in a layer of viscous heavy fluid covering a rigid sphere is constructed. The sphere rotates and moves in a circular orbit in a central Newtonian field. An estimate of the moment of the tidal friction forces is given.
