Prophylaxe und Frühbehandlung der Gingivitis und Parodontitis

Zusammenfassung

Nach einer kurzen Übersicht über Ätiologie und Pathogenese der Gingivitis und Parodontitis werden die Möglichkeiten der Parodontalprophylaxe und -frühbehandlung dargestellt. Dabei wird auf die Problematik einer lokalen medikamentösen Therapie hingewiesen, die bis heute nur bei eingeschränkter Indikation möglich ist. Ausführlicher wird auf die mechanische Plaque- und Zahnsteinentfernung durch Patient und Zahnarzt eingegangen, die nach wie vor die beste und erfolgversprechendste Prophylaxe und Frühbehandlung darstellt.

La Plaque dentaire conduit à la gingivite, elle-même considérée comme la cause principale de parodontite (parodontose). La destruction des tissus parodontaux peut être accélérée par troubles fonctionnels secondaires de l'appareil masticateur. La prophylaxie médicamenteuse locale en est à ses débuts et son future en est encore incertain. D'autre part, la prévention et la thérapie de la parodontite sont à l'heure actuelle possibles par des mesures d'hygiène buccale. L'enlèvement mécanique de la plaque et du tartre constitue à la fois la meilleure prévention et le meilleur traitement, ainsi que le montrent les résultats d'une étude clinique.

Summary

The presence of dental plaque leading to gingivitis is regarded as the most important cause of periodontitis which develops from gingivitis. The destruction of the periodontal tissues may be accelerated by functional disorders of the masticatory apparatus.

Chemical prevention and therapy is still in its initial stages with their future being uncertain. On the other hand, prevention and therapy of periodontitis are possible by hygienic measures. The mechanical removal of dental plaque and calculus is the best way of prevention and early treatment. This is shown with the aid of a clinical study.
