Die Abbildungstreue von Meeresboden-Profilen in Echogrammen

Zusammenfassung

Die Einführung schreibender Echolot-Anzeigegeräte mit hohen Verstärkungsziffern für den hydrographischen Dienst in Deutschland bietet die Möglichkeit, ohne Kenntnis der Böschungswinkel die reellen Profile unruhiger Meeresböden näherungsweise zu bestimmen. Es werden grundsätzliche Betrachtungen über die Abbildung des Bodens in Echogrammen unter Verwendung des seit einiger Zeit verfügbaren Graphitpapieres angestellt, wahre Tiefenwerte und Abmessungen von Bodensenken berechnet, Echogramme der Norwegischen Rinne diskutiert und die reellen Profile gezeichnet. Schließlich werden die sich aus dieser neuen Schreibmethode ergebenden Forderungen an eine moderne Vermessungs-Echolotanlage zusammengestellt.

Summary

The introduction into the German Hydrographic Service of self-recording echo sounders offers the possibility to approximately determine the true profiles of uneven sea bottoms without knowing the angles of elevation. With the aid of representations of sea bottoms as obtained from echograms by means of graphite paper, (which is available here since some time), the principles of the apparatus are dealt with and the true depths and dimensions of depressions in the sea bottom are computed, echograms of the Norwegian Trough are discussed, and the true profiles plotted. Finally, the author states the demands upon a modern equipment of echo sounders for surveying purposes resulting from this new recording method.

Résumé

Les sondeurs ultrasonores enregistreurs à grand chiffre d'amplification quifurent introduits dans le Service Hydrographique Allemand permettent de déterminer d'une manière approximative les profils réels des fonds accidentés de la mer sans en connaître l'angle d'élévation. Les images des profils sous-marins enregistrés sur une bande de papier graphité, qui est disponible depuis quelque temps, ont fait l'objet d'une considération des principes des appareils sus-mentionnés. Les valeurs de profondeur ainsi que les dimensions des dépressions du fond de la mer sont calculées, des enregistrements des échos des sondeurs ultrasonores obtenus dans le Fossé Norvégien sont discutés et les profils réels sont tracés. Enfin, l'auteur donne les exigences qui résultent de cette nouvelle méthode d'enregistrer quant aux équipements modernes de sondeurs enregistreurs à ultrason pour les levers sous-marins.
