Abstract
We argue that productivity is a phenomenon which takes on various meanings in different contexts. Reliability coefficients of six scales of productivity, four of which have been used byAndrews and/or byPelz andAndrews, are estimated in 28 work contexts using data on 224 R & D teams. The results support the argument.
