Summary
This gas analysis apparatus is an improvement ofSimonson's. Its manipulation is much simpler thanHaldane's original form and leaves no theoretical defects. It must be remembered, however, that in completing gas analysis within a range of temperature of 0.1° C.–0.2° C., it is important to pay attention to such points as the movements of mercury and concentration of potassium hydroxide solution in which pyrogallol has been dissolved. The time required for completing a series of analyses is a little less than one third of that required byHaldane's apparatus.
