Résumé

Les résultats de "l'étude bâloise des adolescents" confirme que leur habitude de fumer est influencée d'une manière importante par l'habitude de fumer chez les parents; une influence encore plus marquée est à voir dans l'habitude de fumer chez les frères et soeurs ainés. Les adolescents qui vivent dans les foyers brisés ou dont les mères travaillent sont aussi plus souvent sujet à cette habitude, mais il s'agit aussi d'adolescents dont les mères fument plus que les autres.

Summary

Results of the Basle-Adolescents Study confirmed an important effect of parent smoking and even more of elder sibling smoking on cigarette consumption of adolescents. Broken home situation and employment of mother were other important determinants the effect of which can, however, be partially explained by a higher frequency of smoking mothers.
