Nachweis, dass die nach Halothan eingetretene Verminderung der Kontraktilität des Myokards durch Lactat oder Acetat verhindert werden kann. Das Ergebnis stützt die Hypothese, Halothan hemme die Aufnahme von Glykose oder beeinträchtige deren Verwertung.
